CONGRATULATIONS
NISHA MILLER
2009 TRACK CHAMPION!!!

Ok, so how did Nisha get to being
TRACK CHAMPION?
It began late summer of 2002 when without anyone's knowledge, Nisha's
Grandpa Bill purchased a dragster for her from Nervo/Coggins. It was then at the tender age of 8 that Nisha started JR Drag Racing! They
purchased her safety equipment, racing suit and she was ready to go...

The first time on the track was at Osceola Dragway during the Friday "Test-n-Tune". When she started out Nisha was the ONLY girl racing juniors at this track {so she more or less paved the way for the junior girls at Osceola!} "We knew nothing about racing a dragster but Eric Peterson became a great mentor!"
Nisha was very scared her first time down the track but very determined to do it!

Nisha, Grandpa and Eric went to the starting line and it was over in seconds...so at the age of 8 she was able to run in the bracket of 12.90 in the 1/8th mile. She fell in love and was ready to hit the track again and again. Her first year was one of learning and came in 3rd place as she closed out the 2003 season.

Her second year was much improved as she gave it her all each and every time at the line. She came in 2nd more than anyone else at the track that year...including the adults!
2004 ended with another fantastic 3rd place finish!!
By her 3rd year, she was able to up her bracket time to 8.90 seconds in the 1/8 mile. Many, many second place finishes came then finally that FIRST BIG WIN!!
Nisha then went on to win the
JUNIOR TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP!!

CONGRATS AFTER HER 1ST WIN!!

Then it was off to Cordova in Iowa for the Division Team Finals...she was only 10 years old at the time and was racing against 16 and 17 year old boys. And still at her young age she held her own against the older racers. There were only a handful of young racers her age there out of 100+ She thought the trip and traveling were great and she absolutely loved the competition!

CHILLIN AT CORDOVA
At 12 years old she blew everyone away when her first time down the track she ran 7.90!! She continued to do very well

Osceola racers went to KnollGas Motorsports Park in Martin, Michigan for the Division Finals. On Nisha's first run, she nailed the light at 002 and at the end of the 1/8th mile broke the crank on her dragster so unfortunately she was out for the rest of the weekend...

It was during the summer of 2007 when Bill Moor wrote an extremely nice article for the South Bend Tribune about Nisha!

2008 at OSCEOLA DRAGWAY

[Nisha and her friend Ryan Hill]
Nisha feels the new friends you make while racing
always makes you a winner!
Nisha's a good driver and hits good lights...she knows how to respond in difficult situations and has continued to finish points in the TOP 4! She's an excellent student and also runs track, plays basketball, swims and serves mass as an alter person.
She strives daily to be the best at whatever she does!

In a couple of years when Nisha can get her drivers license...she thought about a drag bike but is also leaning towards a Nostalgia Front Engine Dragster!
So we'll just have to wait and see...
